“Hi i am Felix a Volunteer who is based in Palermo, i am in Palermo now for 3 Months, my Organization called Tulime-onlus, an Organisation who is helping Uganda, Tanzania and Nepal. I write the following Article not in my Mother language so i hope you will understand because i can’t express my feelings that much, my Mother language is German, i am from Ravensburg a City which is near Stuttgart and the Lake of Constance. My sending organization is AWO-Stuttgart.
The following Article is about some Activitations I did in the past.
Giulia my tutor picked me up with her car from my flat, we drove to a cafè which sells a lot of organic food it called Freschette, as we enter, there were Veronica and Marilena the leaders of Tulime-Onlus, it was a beautiful atmosphere, everybody seemed to be happy, we showed all the products of Mani d’ Africa, a lot of people looked at it and we also sell a lot, it was really clear that there are people who are interested in Africa. I was Inviting my Couchsurfer from America, Brandon the Musician, he is an great guitar player and played a song for Tulime-Onlus, everybody listened too, after we stayed in the cafè and sold a lot and talked and meet a lot of people we went home it was already night, but it was a great feeling to be part of something and to be an Volunteer and to have the chance to meet a lot of people and to be able to see how a project in an Organization rises, i was happy after our day, i felt like i did something which is not only important for me.
My other activities were to be in Vivaio and Officina 22, which are beautiful garden in an Hospital for people with special need, in Vivaio we had the opportunity to wok in an Garden and plant, we also talked with the people with special need, it was an nice experience, we also went to Officina 22, one project of Officina 22 is to work in the Garden, but they also make workshops, the last workshop was about the sign language Arianna was leading, with an Party after the Workshop with a lot of food and Music played by People with mental problems, but basically Officina 22, is a place to work and relax its really beautiful there, and to work under palms in the sun is perfect, we communicated there with a lot of people who live in the Hospital, but also we learned a lot about a Garden. The People i met for Tulime always have a smile on their faces and are interested in other people, to be in an Organization who raises Projects in Africa and also focus on things happen in Palermo is perfect, to be able to have the chance of different activitations is a good experience and to communicate with an Tutor who is not that old and understand what you want to do which projects what creative ideas you have is really nice.
I am in Palermo now since November and i enjoyed my self a lot.“
